Financial Analyst of Accounting, Financial Reporting and Analysis
Accounting Department
Reports to: Manager of Financial Reporting and Analysis
Summary
Under general supervision, analyze and prepare monthly firm-wide financial and managerial reports and assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
Relationships
Reports directly to the Financial Reporting and Analysis Manager. Interacts with all Directors and Managers and Accounting staff of the Firm’s global offices.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the reporting of firm-wide and practice group operating results; includes financial statements and monthly statistical reports.
- Assist with the analysis and review of firm-wide monthly expense variances. Work with directors and managers to reconcile account variances.
- Assist with the preparation of the Firm’s annual budget and forecast, including reports for senior management.
- Prepare financial and statistical analysis of firm-wide operations as requested.
- Prepare adjusting journal entries and work with accounting staff, and budget holders, on resolving GL coding issues.
- Assist with preparation of various government and industry surveys.
- Other special projects as requested.
Specifications
- College degree; B.S. in Finance or Accounting preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years of related work experience; Professional services environment preferred.

Strong verbal and written communication skills; analytic aptitude; professionalism and integrity. Strong interpersonal skills. Highly motivated, with ability to work under pressure with interruptions, tight deadlines, and minimal supervision. Ability to use independent judgment, problem solve and see multiple tasks to completion. Must be organized, detail oriented, a strong sense of time management, a team player and work with a high degree of accuracy.
Technological Skills
Excellent Excel skills with experience in use of advanced functions (Pivot tables, Lookups, Array formulas, etc); financial modeling experience. Proficiency with various software programs such as, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and use of the Internet. Knowledge of financial applications and database environments with similarities to the Firm’s systems. Knowledge of report development tools, desktop applications and concepts of relational database technology. Experience with SQL programming and VBA a plus. Knowledge of the Elite Accounting System a plus. Knowledge of M.S. SharePoint a plus. Experience with budgeting and reporting software (e.g. Clarity Systems, Hyperion, and Redwood) a plus.
