Benefits Administrative Assistant-Professional Staff
Overview
This individual will assist the Benefits team with all benefits administrative tasks for our lawyers and professional staff.
Responsibilities
- General administrative assistant responsibilities including but not limited to answering phones, filing, duplicating, conference room reservations and logistics, etc.
- Assist in the on-boarding process of new lawyers and professional staff. Including but not limited to: creating orientation packages; working with various departments to confirm benefits eligibility, etc.
- Assist with HRIS data entry related to benefit plan enrollments for new hires, terminations, changes, and beneficiary designations.
- Assist with data entry to various insurance carriers’ web portals, maintenance and organization of beneficiary designations, life insurance policies, and electronic documents posted on the firm’s Intranet.
- Prepare COBRA packages for terminating employees and initial required COBRA notices for all new hires; track COBRA participants, payments and billing.
- Assist Benefits Supervisor with Retirement plan audits including preparation of confirmation letters and supporting documentation for selected participants, etc.
- Assist benefits team with ad hoc projects as needed.
Requirements
- 2+ years of administrative assistant experience in a fast paced environment, preferably financial services or legal industry
- Excellent interpersonal, client service, and written and verbal communication skills
- Exercises good judgment, has excellent organization skills, and strong attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize numerous responsibilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Proactive team player
- Must be proficient MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint
