Legal Technology Data Specialist
Hours: M-F, 4:00 pm-12:00 am, with overtime as required
Job Summary
Performs tasks essential to the creation, maintenance, loading and export of data from Relativity databases, and for file conversions, electronic and paper document productions, and media creation. Manipulates data and performs data analysis.
- Set-up new databases and maintain field structures of existing databases.
- Transfer data via FTP
- Convert load files to various formats.
- Prepare (by manipulating and validating) data files for loading into Relativity databases.
- Load and export data.
- Prepare databases for productions.
- Quality check productions and data loads to ensure all incoming and outgoing data files meet project-specific and industry standards
- Maintain and track incoming media.
- Perform database administration tasks such as document deletion, creation of document views and coding layouts, field merges, conforming field values.
- Manipulate database records and associated files as needed.
- Assist in troubleshooting database issues such as missing images, incorrectly loaded data; tracing the history of affected records by researching SkadTech requests, email chains, checking load files used and original data sources.
- Perform database searches as necessary for checking and preparing data for mass editing and export.
- Perform Optical Character Recognition on electronic files as needed.
- Export production data, images and natives from Relativity workspaces as necessary.
- Creation and duplication of various media formats (CD, DVD, Hard Drive, USB Drives) as needed.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of job-related computer software, i.e. imaging, database.
- Knowledge of Relativity and litigation support production workflows preferred.
- Working knowledge of structured query language (SQL) for use with databases and MS Windows.
- Basic knowledge of database administration functions such as loading data, manipulating data and exporting fielded data.
- Familiarity with productivity tools used for file transfers and copies (ftp), file compression (RAR and ZIP) and encryption methods.
- Ability to manipulate data through programmatic means or by using a text editor such as TextPad.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to handle confidential/sensitive matters.
- Ability to work independently or in a team setting.
- Initiative to assume a high level of responsibility in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments, and shifting responsibilities and deadlines.

Experience/Education
- High School Degree. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 year of related work experience in a corporate law firm or legal vendor.
