Benefits Analyst
Major NYC law firm seeks a Benefits Analyst to join its Benefits team. Qualified candidates will have 2-3 years benefits-related experience, be bright self-starters who possess great interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills and are highly organized and detail-oriented. Must be able to resolve issues effectively and confidentially and handle multiple tasks in a timely manner. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required; familiarity with Workday is a plus.
Job Description
The Benefits Analyst will report directly to the Director of Benefits and will assist in the overall benefits program administration for 2800 lawyers and professional staff worldwide.
- Assists with orientations of new lawyers and administrative staff and reviews and updates, as needed, benefits enrollment package materials.
- Maintains and updates content, as needed, of Benefits information for new hire brochures and hand books and as posted on Intranet site
- Communicates regularly with employees and answers questions regarding benefits, enrollments, changes, terminations, special circumstances, problem resolution, and compliance issues. Heavy telephone contact with Partners, employees and program vendors.
- Prepares and transmits eligibility files and payroll deduction files to vendor applicable to the FSA and Transit (eTrac) programs, and 401k plan.
- Tracks and maintains COBRA participants, billing and payment, and coordinates eligibility with vendors.
- Enters enrollments and changes to HRIS; and maintains vendor websites (e.g., for Medical, Dental, Vision,401k Plan, Gym Memberships, and other benefit plans).
- Reconciles monthly invoices and payroll deductions for dental, vision, voluntary insurance programs
- Administration and tracking of absences due to Short-Term Disabilities
- Maintain, organize and process eligibility/usage reports applicable to Emergency Child Care program, and coordinate with Payroll
Position Requirements
Education/Experience
- BA/BS degree required
Knowledge
- HRMS, Word, PowerPoint; must be proficient in Excel
