Litigation KM Assistant

The Litigation KM Assistant supports the Litigation KM Attorney in providing practice support to the NY and Washington litigation practices, which encompass arbitration, bankruptcy litigation, enforcement and litigation matters.

  1. Support creation and maintenance of enforcement and bankruptcy litigation forms and checklists.
  2. Support creation and maintenance of wiki content for arbitration, bankruptcy litigation, and enforcement.
  3. Maintain enforcement and bankruptcy KDL collections (models, trainings and other resources), including the External Presentations collection.
  4. Assist lawyers with locating models and other resources for arbitration, bankruptcy litigation, and enforcement matters.
  5. Provide budget estimate support for arbitration, bankruptcy and enforcement matters.
    1. Create databases of sample matters to be used for budget estimates.
    2. Support teams in utilizing available budget estimate resources.
    3. Support ad hoc budget projects.
  6. Responsible for matter tracking of arbitration, bankruptcy litigation and enforcement matters.
    1. Support quality control of information in NMI, including correction of practice area coding and description revisions.
    2. Organize and coordinate cleanup of miscoded matters in NMI.
    3. Liaise with the Managing Attorney’s Office to insure that litigation teams open dockets.
    4. Future: responsible for collection and input of information into matter tracking system.
  7. Maintain enforcement consultant referral information.
  8. Collect and input information regarding arbitration hearing experience for inclusion in the Trial & Hearing database.
  9. Maintain the Arbitrator Appointment Database and support quarterly updates:
    1. Collect and input information regarding arbitrator appointments from the U.S. offices into the Arbitrator Appointments database.
    2. Perform quality control of entries into this database that are made by support staff in European offices.
    3. Draft quarterly arbitrator appointment updates.
  10. Support development and updating of training materials, including integration of KM resources in substantive trainings.
  11. Assist with administration of annual Litigation Academy.
  12. Test and provide feedback on firmwide KM initiatives and upgrades.
  13. Support other ad hoc KM projects for the litigation practice. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a preference for legal or business studies.
  • Experience as a paralegal supporting an enforcement and litigation practice preferred.
  • Web design experience preferred.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
