Job Description

A national litigation boutique, has an opening for a junior professional assistant (legal secretary) in our midtown NYC office. It is expected that the candidate will train to become a professional assistant (legal secretary) working for attorneys.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining and updating Outlook contacts, revising and editing legal documents, electronic file organization, light accounting, coordinating travel and numerous other administrative responsibilities.  Successful candidates must be detail-oriented, have superior organizational skills, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously under strict deadlines, have excellent writing and communication skills, exercise good judgment, possess a team player attitude.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have a recent 4 year college degree and one to two years’ secretary or professional assistant experience in a law firm or corporate law dept.  A strong computer proficiency in 2010 MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Professional is necessary. Must be able to lift/carry 40 lbs. and able to work after hours when needed. Competitive salary and excellent benefits.
