Sr. Business Development Manager (Corporate)

Position Summary
The Senior Business Development Manager will work closely with the Practice Group Leaders. The Senior Business Development Manager will plan, execute and evaluate the ROI of all Corporate-related BD initiatives to attract, retain and expand a loyal client base. The position will report to the US Director of Business Development.
Because the Senior Business Development Manager will help to shape and grow this role, we are seeking candidates with significant years of experience in senior positions. Experience in consulting or financial services industries is required.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate strategic focus, a proven ability to evaluate and direct market positioning, and a track record of spearheading and managing corporate branding initiatives.
- Be able to identify emerging developments and market trends, cross-selling opportunities and differentiating factors.
- Be adept at client perception management, competitive analysis, navigation of a changing legal environment and similar higher-level functions.
- Coach and mentor the Corporate BD team, including agreeing on objectives, priorities and methods to enhance BD functions within the group, as well as identifying the roles of individuals in that process and securing any requisite training/support needs.
- Uphold tight supervision of the team, ensuring the quality and accuracy of all BD materials meets lawyer satisfaction, and directly handling lawyer feedback related to all BD functions.
Experience & Qualifications
- BA or equivalent required; MBA or other applicable graduate degree highly desirable.
- A minimum of eight years of experience is required, preferably in a fast-paced corporate environment, primarily in the conduct of business development with clients and target clients. Experience in consulting or financial services industries required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- An ability to handle time-sensitive requests from demanding lawyers and to generate quality work product in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; a confident, professional manner of interaction that will resonate with the Firm’s senior lawyers.
- Familiarity with standard presentation, spreadsheet, database and word processing applications (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Word), as well as with a variety of online information resources.
