Corporate Business Development Coordinator

The Corporate Business Development Coordinator will work with the Corporate Business Development Manager and fellow coordinators and analysts to create and implement business development and marketing initiatives relating to the M&A, commercial banking and capital markets practices at leading, global, law firm.

Job Responsibilities

Assisting with drafting, editing and proofreading pitch materials, responses to requests for proposal (RFPs) and other business development materials; conducting research and analysis to help identify new business opportunities and cross-selling initiatives with existing and prospective clients; preparing research memos and background briefing books for partners concerning new business targets; developing and executing on innovative strategic initiatives to find new business opportunities; monitoring and reporting on news, industry trends and issues impacting current and prospective clients; maintaining and updating corporate practice text, deal descriptions and partner biographies for use in business development materials and Firm brochures; assisting attorneys with transaction tracking to ensure that representative deal descriptions for use in pitch and presentation materials are current and accurate; tracking business development activity in internal databases; working with the Firm’s website team to maintain and keep current corporate partner biographies and practice information on the Firm’s external website; maintaining and updating corporate practice information in business development databases; and performing other marketing and business development-related duties as necessary.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required; a minimum commitment of 2 years to the position; at least 2 years of office work experience in a professional environment, preferably in law or finance; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required; strong understanding of terminology and deal types associated with mergers and acquisitions, commercial banking and capital markets; an articulate and professional demeanor; strong written and verbal communication skills; an extremely detail-oriented work manner; exceptional editing and proofreading skills; the ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments; the ability to work in a collaborative team environment; the ability to work well under pressure and complete assignments in an accurate and timely manner; the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise a high standard of judgment and discretion; and the availability to work overtime as needed, including nights and weekends.

This position is located in our New York office and the hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with regular overtime. All coordinators receive valuable one‑on‑one training on Bloomberg, Capital IQ and Thomson Reuters products, as well as other tools.
