The Opportunity
The Attorney Recruiter is responsible for managing the Law School Recruiting Program, Summer Associate Program, 2L and 1L On Campus Interviewing Programs, and Lateral Recruiting. Assesses program effectiveness and recommends enhancements for improvements. Ensures client service and satisfaction are attained in all areas of position.
General Recruiting and Hiring
- Under the direction of the Firmwide Law School Recruiting Manager, works independently and with other members of the Attorney Recruiting team to establish and implement diversity plans for attorney recruiting that support the Firm’s objectives.
- Applying experienced and seasoned knowledge, reviews and screens resumes and applications; check references of select applicants; distribute paperwork of qualified applicants to appropriate parties; maintain applicant files.
- Develop strategic liaisons and advisory relationships with prospective hires to ensure substantive, ongoing contact with the Firm, and to promote desired acceptance rates. Provide ongoing applicant communications, guidance, informational and policy assistance, etc.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients including attorneys, staff, school Career Services Counselors, outside agencies, other recruiters, etc.
- Act as ambassador for the Firm in all aspects of attorney recruiting, presenting a consistently professional and positive demeanor.
- Responsible for the preparation of all relevant Taleo and Workday notices and other documentation for new hires; proactively ensure that all necessary departments and parties are informed/notified to facilitate new hires arrival and orientation.
- Substantively participate in firmwide recruiting meetings and committees.
Summer Associate Program
Guided by department, Firm objectives and the Firmwide Law School Recruiting Manager, manages all aspects of the Summer Associate Program; orientation and training, scheduling, quality and quantity of all summer associate assignments; initiates the midsummer and final performance review process. Ensures the final execution the admin/risk management exit process.
On Campus Interviewing (OCI) Program
Responsible for the management of the OCI Program for the office including: resume review; schedule callback interviews and gather feedback; coordinate follow up on offers and creates the cultivation plan; manage office recruiting funnel and acceptance rates.
Lateral Recruiting and Hiring
In collaboration with the Director of Attorney Recruiting, responsible for all aspects of lateral associate recruitment.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Minimum of four to five years of Recruiting or Human Resources experience required.
Previous law firm experience strongly preferred.
