Reports to: Attorney Recruitment Director and Attorney Development Manager
Summary
The Attorney Recruitment and Development Assistant works with the Attorney Recruitment Director and the Attorney Development Manager in administering the firm’s attorney recruitment and development programs (including the firm’s summer associate and law student recruitment programs and its ongoing attorney development programs).
Relationships
The Attorney Recruitment and Development Assistant reports to the Director of Attorney Recruitment and the Attorney Development Manager, supports the Attorney Recruitment and Development Manager and the Senior Attorney Recruitment Coordinator, and interacts frequently with internal legal and administrative personnel, as well as with law students and summer associates.
Responsibilities
Attorney Recruitment
Law Student Recruitment
- Handles all administrative aspects relating to on-campus recruitment programs and job fairs (including preparation of materials for on-campus interviewers).
- Database entry and correspondence preparation (invite/offer/reject letters) to law student candidates following their on-campus and in-firm interviews, as well as all unsolicited candidates.
- Schedules callback interviews with law students and responds to candidate telephone
- Greets and escorts candidates to interviews and prepares materials to be given to candidates (including interview schedules, attorney biographies, articles, etc.)
- Updates candidate database files daily to reflect most current status of candidates and candidate follow-up.
- Prepares weekly scheduling pages (noting areas of interest, student requests, on-campus interviewer, suggested in-firm interviewers, etc.)
- Monitors candidate travel and coordinate all candidate travel reimbursements with candidates and other law firms.
- Assists in planning and attending recruitment events (including callback and 1L receptions and offer dinners).
- Maintains and updates recruitment reports and charts as needed.
- Travel sometimes required.
Summer Program
- Assists in production and distribution of all summer associate mailings and handles various administrative tasks relating to summer associate program start and end dates.
- Prepares summer associate photo directory.
- Assists in planning and attends all summer program social events.
- Assists in preparing all summer program presentations.
- Maintains and monitors summer associate/associate meal outings to ensure summer associates and associates abide by the summer associate program meal policies.
- Monitors and arranges travel reimbursements to and from the summer associate program for out-of-town summer associates.
- Acts as general information point of contact for all summer associates.
Attorney Development
CLE
- Creates files for each Firm Training Program; Inputs all course and attendee information for in-house and client training programs into the Firm’s Continuing Legal Education (“CLE”) tracking database.
- Enters and files course and attendee information for outside provider CLE course certificates, as well as verification forms for non-traditional format in-house programs.
- Maintains attorney CLE records in the Firm’s CLE tracking database, including creating accounts for new attorneys. Prepares departure packets and inactivating accounts as attorneys leave the Firm.
- Processes and monitors attorney registrations at external CLE programs.
Trainings
- As needed, assists with preparation of attorney training at Firm-wide, department, practice group, and matter specific levels, including coordinating with other offices, preparing invitations, preparation of program materials, room set-up (including coordinating with the IS and Facilities Departments).
- As needed, assists with in-house teleconferences and webcasts offered by outside providers, including coordinating with other offices, preparing invitations, preparation of program materials, room set-up (including coordinating with the IS and Facilities Departments).
The Attorney Recruitment and Development Assistant will also provide support and assistance with other tasks and special projects as required.
