Summary
The Specialist of Marketing and Business Development is responsible for leading and supporting various business development efforts and initiatives across the Firm. This includes the creation of content, including tailored pitches and submissions, and the planning and successful execution of events and opportunities to raise awareness and visibility for the Firm and its partners. The successful candidate is expected to perform all responsibilities with a commitment to providing superior service to the Firm’s clients, attorneys, advisors and staff; contribute to an atmosphere of collaboration and teamwork; and strives to excel.
Relationships
The Specialist of Marketing and Business Development will interact and communicate with the entire Marketing and Business Development Department, clients of the Firm, attorneys, and administrative staff. They will work closely with the senior managers and directors of the team for guidance and direction.
Responsibilities
Primary
- Works independently to create tailored, thoughtful, and responsive content including messaging for the following:
- Pitches and RFPs
- Directories and Submissions
- Media Pitches
- Website and Intranet
- Other collateral including practice descriptions and tailored attorney bios, flyers, industry specific experience, case studies, client mailings, newsletters, and other client-visible content.
- Crafts message points and positioning.
- Conducts media and interview prep and prepare briefings.
- Produces comprehensive research and background materials.
- Implements and leads best practices for organizing, collecting, and presenting content and matter experience.
- Helps to ensure quality, accuracy and consistency of all work product produced by the team.
Secondary
- Additional responsibilities include leading and supporting other key activities, projects and initiatives across the team’s marketing and business development function.
Qualifications
- College degree required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing and/or business development within a medium to large professional services environment.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to create tailored materials that require minimal direction or review from supervisors or project leaders.
- Demonstrates a solid understanding of the Firm’s business and clients.
- Clearly demonstrates the ability to work effectively across various projects and assume new challenges.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a variety of people and departments.
- Develops clear, concise and well-structured written and verbal communications.
- Clearly demonstrates good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrates flexibility and ingenuity to respond to changing demands.
Technology Skills
- Must be highly skilled in MS Suite-Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with marketing- related databases preferred.
