Patent Docket Administrator

Schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Amount of Travel Required: Less than 5% (occasional travel to California
office)

Summary

Under direction of the Director of the Patent Prosecution Practice Group, the Patent Docket Administrator will be responsible for all functions relating to docketing including, but not limited to, ensuring all critical deadlines are docketed and all responsible individuals are aware of such deadlines.

Essential Job Requirements
* Processing incoming patent correspondence daily in order to update and maintain the patent docketing system, relaying incoming patent correspondence to appropriate individuals, updating electronic records with official patent correspondence, and generating various reports as needed.
* Reviewing patent annuity reports, relaying due dates to responsible parties and providing payment instructions through a contracted annuity service.
* Run global dockets to review daily deadlines and follow-up with responsible individuals as needed.
* Conduct validation checks to assess the data integrity of patent records and update/correct records as needed.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
* At least 4-6 years of relevant patent docketing experience.
* College degree and/or Paralegal certification from an accredited program is a plus.
* Working knowledge of the PATTSY docketing system is preferred.
* Familiarity with USPTO and foreign patent office online resources.
* Familiarity with USPTO correspondence, procedures and rules.
* Detail-oriented, highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel is essential.
