Real Estate Legal Assistant

 

Summary

The real estate legal assistant assists attorneys in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions.

 

Essential Functions

·         Review of title and survey materials.
·         Review of commercial leases, including preparation of lease abstracts.
·         Drafting of organizational of documents.
·         Review of and comments to organizational documents.
·         Preparation of documents of assignment, satisfaction and partial release, including coordination of pay-off figures and closing review of title policies.
·         Complete post-closing responsibilities.
·         Preparation of 1099S filings at year end.
·         Preparation and filing of NYS/NYC Transfer Tax Forms.
·         Preparation of closing binders.
·         Responding to client telephone inquiries.
 

Education

• Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 5 years commercial real estate paralegal experience.

 

Experience and Skills Required

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Working knowledge of ACRIS.
