Marketing Events Specialist
Position Summary: Prominent AmLaw 200 law firm with offices in New Jersey, New York California, and Washington, DC seeks ambitious, hard-working, detail-oriented marketing events coordinator to join an innovative and energetic marketing and business development team in the firm’s New Jersey and New York office. Primary responsibilities include the planning, coordination and execution of all client-related firm-hosted events and seminars, sponsorship opportunities, and attorney speaking engagements.
Additional responsibilities include oversight of event-related marketing databases, as well as event budgeting and reporting.
The role, which reports to the Marketing Operations Manager, is extremely varied and fast-paced, and will provide the successful applicant with valuable experience in events planning, marketing and business development, particularly in a professional services environment.
Job Responsibilities
• Coordinate, plan and manage all activities related to firm-hosted events. Specific responsibilities include:
- identifying and negotiating with appropriate off-site venues and vendors regarding all aspects of events, from food and décor to giveaways;
- working closely with colleagues in other departments (catering, office services, IT, receptionists, etc.) to coordinate on-site event logistics;
- working with internal clients (i.e., attorneys and business development team) on event strategy, from pre-event planning to obtaining post-event feedback;
- creating and managing event budgets;
- on-site set-up and attendance;
- providing post-event analysis and reporting.
- Coordinate all activities related to firm sponsorships and attorney speaking opportunities. Specific responsibilities include:
- researching new sponsorship and speaking opportunities;
- working with outside conference organizers;
- setting up and breaking down the firm’s booth at conferences, and representing Firm at the booth during events;
- providing post-event analysis and reporting.
- Assist business development team with the creation of presentation materials and other event-related collateral.
Requirements
• A Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 6 + years of events experience, preferably in a law firm or other professional services setting.
• Strong project management and analytical skills.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Must be highly motivated, organized and detail-oriented.
• Client-service oriented and an enthusiastic team player, with a positive can-do attitude.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to use technology efficiently.
- CRM experience- Interaction preferred.
- E-mail Marketing experience.
- Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects at once and work independently.
• Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Office Location: New York or New Jersey (1-2 days a week in the NY office)
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday; 9:30 AM-5:30 PM (flexible)
Amount of Travel Required: Local travel and long distance travel will be required for events.
