Financial Restructuring Paralegal               

A major Wall Street law firm, has an immediate opening for an experienced Financial Restructuring Paralegal. The successful candidate must be a well-organized, detail oriented individual who has the ability to effectively and efficiently manage simultaneous projects.  Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written, are key requirements.

As a Financial Restructuring Paralegal, you must have familiarity with Westlaw, Lexis, ECF, and other software applications used to support the department. Extensive knowledge of federal and state court systems, local rules, Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure, Bankruptcy Code and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.

Your day to day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Calendaring of critical dates related to bankruptcy cases, adversary proceedings and all case related litigation and regulatory requirements
  • Preparation of hearing binders and related materials, monitoring and arranging client and attorney dial-ins
  • Drafting Notices of Hearing; Pro Hac Vice Applications, Fee Applications and various forms of other bankruptcy related pleadings
  • Researching precedent for forms of substantive and non-substantive pleadings
  • Coordinating logistics for depositions and all aspects of discovery and activities related thereto
  • Assisting with retention process
  • Organizing and managing documents in databases, including client documents, production documents, pleadings, correspondence, hearing transcripts and all other case-related material
  • Preparing for depositions, hearings & client conferences
  • Preparing and arranging for transmittal of correspondence, legal documents etc., via fax, regular mail service and other firm mail services
  • Bluebooking and cite-checking pleadings, briefs, etc.
  • Reviewing / monitoring dockets using ECF/PACER

This position requires a 4 year degree and a minimum of 2-5 years of Financial Restructuring Paralegal experience in a law firm. A Paralegal Certificate is a plus. The ideal candidate will enjoy being a team player as well as working independently; exhibit a positive, helpful attitude and the ability to maintain confidential information; exercise good judgment and follow through on assigned tasks.  Candidate must be able to hit the ground running with little training. Overtime is an essential function of this job.
