ERISA Paralegal

Job Description
This position provides legal support to the Company’s ERISA and EASOP Attorneys.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys to drafts plan documents, amendments and notices to maintain plan compliance with IRS and DOL as well as Summary Plan Descriptions, Summary of Material Modifications, determination letter submissions, EPCRS plan correction submissions, audit requests, responses and other government filings and submissions and tracks such matters through resolution.
- Inventories and maintains original sets of plan documents and certain governmental filings.
- Performs legal research in the area of employee benefits under the supervision of an attorney
- Ensures compliance with statutory rules associated with benefit plans, including but not limited to, ERISA, Internal Revenue Code, ACA and HIPAA.
- Manages calendar of corresponding due dates/deadlines.
- Works overtime as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Prior exposure or experience in a law firm setting preferred.
- Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.
- Demonstrates the ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to interpret and apply common sense understanding to carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations.
- Ability to work as a team player.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
