Summary
The Business Development Coordinator provides support to the members of the Business Development team and assists in executing and tracking business development and visibility initiatives for various practices in the Corporate Department. Responsibilities include assisting with various client and business development initiatives, researching businesses and deciding on targeted new business opportunities to the senior manager, assisting with the production of pitches/presentations, updating and maintaining key information systems (including the matters database, the business development pitch database, Business Book, as well as the Firm website and Intranet), and assisting with other special projects as requested.
Relationships
Reports to the Senior Manager of Business Development – Corporate and works closely with all members of the Business Development team. This position also regularly involves activities and projects which involve non-marketing personnel, across offices.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the execution of business development initiatives for various corporate practices.
- Coordinates tracking of practice and individual partner plans for assigned groups.
- Supports the production of pitches and new business presentations, RFP responses and collateral pieces.
- Researches and compiles targeted reports on potential targets, existing clients, industries, regional markets, financial products, competitors and internal financial information.
- Gather, synthesize, format and distribute relevant news on key targets and clients
- Coordinates matter deal collection for assigned practices.
- Assists in updating and organizing the Firm’s client relationship management system (Business Book) and business development calendars for assigned practices.
- Supports team efforts for directory submissions, awards and other visibility initiatives including matter tracking and collection.
- Supports the marketing team with publication and distribution of client memos and alerts, including posting client memos to the Firm’s website, as assigned.
- Provides special project support to his/her direct report and other members of the Marketing and Business Development team, as assigned.
Specifications
Education: A 4-year college Degree is required.
Experience: At least 2 years of prior experience in a professional environment preferred.
