Business Development and Practice Resources Coordinator-Financial Institutions Group (FIG)

Reports to: Business Development Manager-Financial Institutions Group
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This position will consist primarily of assisting the Business Development Manager in information management, business research, and the production of marketing materials in addition to coordinating practice resources for the Financial Institutions Group
Specific Business Development responsibilities will include:
- Preparing targeted research and analysis that focuses on specific geographic and financial industry sectors in connection with various business development opportunities
- Coordinating and scheduling submissions to numerous league tables, legal directories, awards and related industry guides (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500, IFLR)
- Updating print and digital marketing materials and assisting with the update of FIG web presence, including blogs and microsites
- Maintaining client lists, tracking outreach and coordinating group activities in relation to specialized web-based FIG products
- Assisting with broader market research into transactions and industries as well as competitive analysis
- Creating profiles of prospective clients, including assessments of company financials, organizational hierarchy, and competitive landscape evaluations
- Provide drafting and research support for Financial Institutions Group responses to Request for Proposals (RFPs)
- Assist in preparing “pitch books” for client presentations and meetings
- Provide analytical/technical support to specialized client service team(s)
Specific Practice Resources responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating updating of internal and public websites as well as Wikis, to reflect ongoing changes in applicable laws and regulations
- Managing and updating FIG precedent resources, including model regulations, forms and statements and other relevant precedents
- Working with other practice resource associates and Associate Development to help organize, design and deliver training programs for cross-group and summer associate training programs
- Working with Business Development to promote client and group initiatives, including client training programs, presentation materials, briefing notes or other

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Basic web design skills a plus
Education and/or Experience
- Three-to-five years’ experience in the legal and/or professional/financial services fields
- Working knowledge of the financial industry
- Working knowledge of financial regulation, including the jurisdictions of relevant U.S. financial market and banking regulators (i.e., CFTC, Federal Reserve, FDIC, OCC, SEC, U.S. Treasury Department), Congressional oversight committees, the U.S. regulatory rulemaking process, and the major European and international financial regulatory authorities
- General familiarity with the main provisions of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act
- Ability to understand and work with various research tools and federal regulatory data sources, including SEC filings, FDIC banking institution data, and Federal Reserve organizational data, among other sources
- Facility with Capital IQ, LivEdgar, Thomson, MergerMarket and other research databases is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in political science, marketing or finance preferred-advanced degree a plus
