Business Development Coordinator-Corporate

8am-5pm (an hour of built in overtime each day)

To assist in the implementation of the Firm’s business development program.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

Pitches and Client Presentations:

Coordinates the gathering and assembling of pitch and presentation materials, including Firm overview, practice descriptions, transaction lists, Partner bios, etc.

Assists in editing pitch and presentation materials.

Business Development Databases:

Maintains business development databases (Records DB) to ensure that transaction descriptions are up-to-date, accurate and have been approved for business development materials (pitches, presentations, press releases, media kits and other collateral materials).

Maintains and updates business development materials (Firm overview, practice descriptions, transaction/deal lists, Partner bios, etc.).

Collaborates with other departments, such as IT, Records and others, to ensure that the databases are consistent with Firm standards.

Key Clients and Targets:

Helps to set up news alerts and track/monitor.  Summarizes news and other significant developments daily (major corporate developments, executive moves and other events the Partners should know about and helps them keep in constant contact with the clients, prospects, other related parties and other Firm Partners).  In addition, helps identify potential new business opportunities.

Weekly and Biweekly Reports:

Prepares biweekly report for the Partnership regarding new business pitches, speaking engagements and high-level press coverage.

Helps prepare weekly business development report for Presiding and Deputy Presiding Partners and Marketing Committee regarding new business pitches, Mergers and Acquisition activity and significant securities offerings.

Website:

Maintains website biographies, deals, cases and news items.

Research:

Gathers information for clients and prospects using internal and external data sources.

Assists in special research projects using internal and external data sources.

Participates in efforts to identify and evaluate new research sources and in developing “best practices” in research. 

Miscellaneous:

Assists with seminar and speaking engagement initiatives including researching potential speaker engagements, submitting partner biographies and serving as the liaison with conference directors.  Assists Partners with preparation of presentation materials.

Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or Business Skills required.

Experience: Two years of work experience in Business Development or significant internship experience.

Knowledge/Skills:  Strong oral and written communication skills.

High standard of judgment.

Confidentiality and discretion.

Extremely detail-oriented.
