Legal Reference Librarian
Reports to: Library Services Manager
Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Occasional analysis / synthesis of information into useful intelligence for lawyers and Business Development Department
- Handle requests ranging from case research assistance to statutory and regulatory state/federal agency-related research
- Conduct topical research using secondary resources both online and in print
- Perform litigation, case, public records searches
- Generate expert witness profiles/reports
- Familiarity with legislative documents research
- Handle special projects such as cite-checking to update firm publications, article gathering, and statistics compilation
- Conduct library orientation training classes for new attorneys and summer associates
- Ability to work independently but also collaboratively with the library reference team as needed
Familiarity and routine use of the following databases is required:
- Lexis, Westlaw, Courtlink, and related products
- S&P Capital IQ
- Monitor Suite
- Checkpoint
- Intelliconnect
- Lexis Securities Mosaic
Proficient use of these products a plus:

- Proquest Congressional
- Bloomberg Law
Education and/or Experience
- MLS from an ALA accredited school
- Two to three years’ minimum current experience as a legal reference librarian
