Legal Personnel Assistant
Summary
The Legal Personnel Assistant provides support to Legal Personnel Managers and staff and shares responsibility for general Legal Personnel duties as well as assistant duties.
Responsibilities
Coordinating the associate departure process; assisting with associate orientation and new hire process; assisting with the documentation and collection of various Legal Personnel processes for Disaster Recovery purposes; coordinating any distribution of materials to associates, processing vacation time requests from associates; assisting with general administration during year-end compensation process; assisting with logistics related to all Legal Personnel events; processing Partner bar dues and miscellaneous invoices; drafting and typing correspondence, memos, and preparing charts, etc.; handling heavy telephone volume; assisting with heavy volume of filing; handling verbal employment verifications; scheduling meetings; providing forwarding information for Alumni; ordering flowers and processing charitable check requests for life events; preparing personnel files and conducting quarterly audit of all associate files; assisting with recruiting, as needed; and performing other duties, as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree; at least two years of administrative work experience; excellent written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of computer applications including Word, Excel, Lotus Notes; and the ability to learn other Legal Personnel applications including PeopleSoft; the ability to work well under pressure and coordinate several activities simultaneously; a detail-oriented work manner; the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines; the ability to conduct research on the Internet; and the availability to work additional hours, as needed.
