Attorney Recruiting Manager

Position Description

Premier, global, law firm seeks a highly motivated Attorney Recruiting Manager for its New York Office. The Attorney Recruiting Manager will be responsible for managing our associate and other non-partner attorney recruiting programs, including law student recruiting, lateral attorney hiring and the summer associate program.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: working with the Firm and the New York hiring partner and recruiting committee to develop, implement and manage recruiting strategies and programs in order to best present the Firm to candidates on campus; driving efforts to increase and improve firm visibility at targeted law schools; developing and fostering law school and search firm relationships; overseeing the interview process, communications, and databases; overseeing the management of the summer associate program, including social events, trainings, surveys, and evaluations; working with New York practice group leadership to determine short term and long term attorney hiring needs; analyzing recruiting trends and implementing recruiting strategies to best directly source lateral candidates; ensuring compliance with the Firm’s hiring policies and AAP guidelines; facilitating the successful integration of all new associates and other attorneys; assisting with the coordination of the attorney development and training programs, as well as the associate evaluation process; and other duties as assigned.

The Attorney Recruiting Manager also works with the Firm Director of Attorney Recruiting on strategic projects and initiatives and supports various office and firm wide committees as assigned, including support of office affinity groups and community service projects. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of recruiters across our offices to ensure firm wide consistency and to share resourceful and creative programming. The Attorney Recruiting Manager directly supervises local Attorney Recruiting Coordinators and Assistants, as well as other support staff indirectly. Finally, this individual is responsible for establishing, adhering to and maintaining the recruiting department budget for the New York Office. 

Qualifications

The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of five years of directly related experience, with at least two of which are in a supervisory capacity. Prior legal recruiting experience is required, including the demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of our high-volume legal recruiting programs, including lateral attorney sourcing and hiring; law student on-campus recruiting; and the summer associate program and event planning. We are seeking someone with excellent creative, interpersonal, leadership, teamwork, organizational and communication skills. This job requires occasional travel to other Firm offices and law school campuses, particularly in the Summer and Fall. This individual will also need to have the flexibility to work beyond the normal business hours, particularly during the Summer and Fall.  LawCruit or other applicant tracking system experience is preferred.
