Financial Systems Analyst
Reports directly to the Directors of Finance
The Financial Systems Analyst is responsible for the support, maintenance, development and implementation of the Firm’s financial software systems.
Job Responsibilities include: acting as a liaison between the IT and Finance departments to provide technical solutions to meet user needs; participating on large scale special projects including software conversions and upgrades; developing reports: writing code to generate reports and data extracts, modifying or developing inquiries and forms to customize reports; troubleshooting and resolving issues with scheduled processes; administering security of systems; balancing systems on daily basis; assisting with the design, development and validation of financial reporting; assisting with the selection, planning, testing, implementation and integration of third party applications and interfaces; evaluating technical and business industry trends and recommending appropriate systems alternatives; preparing written communications for tasks/projects and delivering presentations to a wide range of audiences; and performing other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements include: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business Administration, or equivalent experience; five to seven years of related financial systems experience within a professional service organization, law firm experience preferred; experience leading large-scale software upgrades and conversions; extensive knowledge of Elite, including familiarity with financial systems masking concepts; experience with the 3E version of Elite is highly preferred; the ability to act independently in terms of keeping track of projects and following up; the superior verbal and written skills needed to communicate effectively with the Partners, Associates, managers and non-legal staff; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent multi-tasking skills; superior customer-relations and service skills; and the availability to work additional hours, as needed.
