Business Development Communications Coordinator
Position Summary
Work as part of the Business Development Communications team to execute initiatives designed to enhance the visibility and profile of the Firm, its lawyers, practice groups and offices.
Primary Responsibilities and/or Essential Functions
- Execute social media initiatives, working in conjunction with BD Communications Manager and Associate Director of Communications, including writing content for posting.
- Coordinate byline article placements.
- Write select announcements and other communications for internal and external purposes.
- Contribute to firm wide marketing/business development initiatives, messaging and follow-up as necessary.
- Contribute to firm wide and regional marketing initiatives and work directly with all levels of staff.
- Coordinate with Communications team in preparing daily news summary of Firm mentions in the media for circulation within the Firm.
- Assist with preparing deal and case announcements and other press releases.
- Coordinate with web team on updating and organizing information on Firm Portal.
- Work on special projects.
- Any additional responsibilities as required by the Firm.
Job Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- 2+ years of communications, marketing or legal related experience.
- Interest and experience in using social media channels, including Twitter and LinkedIn
- Excellent writing and verbal communications skills to interface with all levels at the firm. Articulate with strong influencing and persuasion skills and superior ability to collaborate cross functionally.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills and the ability to handle monitor multiple projects on a regular basis.
- Impeccable attention to detail and creative flair.
- Familiarity/comfort with business and legal jargon.
- Aptitude for understanding new technologies quickly.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe and other publishing software.
- Superior team player; positive attitude; high energy, drive, determination and collaborative nature.
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree required. High GPA preferred.
