Content Marketing Specialist
Department: Marketing
Reports to: Communications Manager
Responsibilities
Guided by department objectives and priorities, works flexibly with a wide range of managers, staff, and attorneys to create and edit client-facing and internal communications across print, digital, and social media platforms to support the firm’s practice development, recruiting, diversity, community outreach, and pro bono initiatives. Researches, plans, and executes content marketing campaigns. Ensures that client service and satisfaction are attained in all areas of the position.
Essential Functions
Content Marketing
- Create persuasive written and visual content for the purposes of digitally marketing a portfolio of clients across practices and industries. Team with demand generation, creative design, events, and other internal and external stakeholders to manage the content development process from end to end.
- Research, plan, and execute content marketing campaigns. Leverage content, SEO, social media, and other inbound marketing tactics to generate website traffic and leads.
- Manage content marketing results and ROI through use of Facebook Insights, Facebook
Ads, Google AdWords, Google Analytics, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other analytics.
- Manage project schedules and approval processes for collateral and electronic communication in collaboration with project managers, design team, practice group managers, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain and regularly update collateral, including marketing materials, attorney bios, practice descriptions, and internal sales tools.
- Proactively identify opportunities to reuse, repackage, and optimize content to maximize return on firm’s content investment.
- Assist with practice content marketing and social media efforts, such as blogs, Twitter feeds, and individual and company LinkedIn profiles.
- Actively contribute to the development of the firm’s blogging strategy.
- Provide writing and editorial support in the development of awards submissions and responses to surveys and directories, such as Chambers, Legal500, and other outlets.
- As needed, assist with practice-, industry, and office-related sponsorships, events, and memberships to facilitate business development, including the identification and measurement of the return on these investments.
Professional Development
- Attended classes and seminars to stay ahead of marketing and social media trends, recommending best practices to help advance the firm’s content marketing strategy.
Client Service, Confidentiality, and Safety
- Consistently promote and model the Firm’s Client Service Principles in leadership, teamwork, work product, and personal interaction.
- Ensure compliance with Firm’s Information Handling Policy, including safeguarding confidential and personal information, and reporting any suspected breach appropriately and immediately.
- Adhere to the Firm’s General Safety Practices and any unique safety practices for department and building.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, such as Marketing, Journalism, English, or Communications.
- At least two to four years of relevant content marketing experience.
- Experience working with a variety of inbound marketing tactics, including but not limited to blogging, public relations, SEO, social media, link building, and email marketing campaigns.

- Excellent writing and editorial skills; able to focus written materials to ensure impact on targeted business and legal audiences.
- A portfolio of relevant work that demonstrates strategic thinking, an engaging writing style, and a solid command of language (flow, sentence structure, grammar, punctuation, etc.).
- Outstanding organizational and project management skills; capable of managing multiple projects and working independently to achieve deadlines.
- Strong business acumen, including an understanding of marketing concepts and best practices, as well as the ability to recognize business development opportunities and pursue them strategically.
- Ability to quickly assess information, anticipate issues and outcomes, and make effective decisions, including identifying patterns and drawing conclusions from diverse data points.
- Attention to details in all areas, including writing, copyediting, researching, and managing data.
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment that places a premium on client service, collaboration, and innovation.
- Video production experience a plus.
