Digital Marketing Analyst

Department: Marketing

Reports to: Director of Marketing Strategy and Operations 

Responsibilities

Guided by department objectives and priorities, provides reporting and analytical support to the Marketing Department to measure and improve the effectiveness of marketing strategies and campaigns. With management, identifies baselines for measuring marketing programs and makes recommendations for improvement. Deploys widespread tracking, develops the right set of input and output metrics and automates the collection and reporting of data. Provides insight to the marketing team to determine ROI of various programs and the optimal mix of programs in the future.  Manages the overall Marketing budget, ensuring expenses are tracking to plan.  Ensures client service and satisfaction are attained in all areas of position.

Essential Functions

Marketing Analytics and Measures

  1. In collaboration with management, identify key performance indicators and metrics of marketing success. Deploy widespread tracking and assess trends in marketing efforts, costs, and results. Analyze data to assist in decision making on Marketing spend, resources, and optimal mix of future programs. Drawing from analytics, collaborate with leadership and department members to provide data and insight to further their strategic objectives, marketing initiatives, practice group plans, and budgeting.
  2. Identify reports, data, and input/output metrics that will strategically drive informed and effective use of Marketing resources. Prepare, distribute and present marketing reports and performance dashboards that clearly communicate insights from complex data.
  3. Use b2b best practices, including client journey mapping, win/loss analysis, and client feedback analysis to inform Marketing strategies for Firm revenue growth.
  4. Use web analytics tools and testing protocols (Google Analytics, Test & Target) to measure performance for email, web, social, display advertising and other channels.
  5. Use CRM to measures ad hoc marketing campaign performance, identifying return on investment.
  6. Analyze client trends (data mining) to identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.
  7. Work across marketing team to gather and define performance data requirements; collaborating with team to propose new methods of evaluating information.
  8. Ensure effective data governance; collaborate closely with Marketing staff and others to collect and maintain reliable, current data on marketing efforts.

Other Duties

  1. Monitor Marketing budget, ensuring expenses are tracking to plan.
  2. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree.
  2. Minimum of three to five years of marketing data analysis experience, including experience in leveraging CRM analytics to drive insights and recommendations.
  3. Experience in professional services preferred.

Teamwork and Applied Skills

  1. Advanced analytical and information gathering skills; ability to evaluate data, particularly from CRM, that will ultimately maximize marketing efforts.
  2. Ability to analyze needs and to determine priorities based on business objectives.
  3. Apply in-depth knowledge of Excel and other Web/Digital analytical tools (especially

Google Analytics).
