Senior Benefits Analyst
Monday-Friday, 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for planning, evaluating and administering health and welfare plans. Responsible for vendor relationships and coordinating communication of plans. This position will ensure compliance with various benefit health and welfare plans and benefits strategies.
- Coordinates the communication of all benefit programs to partners and employees, including on-boarding of new hires, annual enrollment and changes to plans as applicable.
- Partner with the Benefits Supervisor on the preparation and distribution of benefit communication, including enrollment guides, maintain and update the summary plan descriptions and plan documents.
- Act as a liaison for international offices with benefits eligibility and enrollment
- Administration of all benefits plans including coordination of all associated data with external providers.
- Support the annual open enrollment process. This will include HR system testing benefit plan testing and review, in conjunction with IT management and vendors.
- In partnership with the Benefits Supervisor, provides annual cost estimates for benefits budget for active and retiree partners and employees.
- Audit and reconcile enrollment and billing for health care benefit plans.
- Maintains and reconciles quarterly benefits cost and recommends cost containment strategies including alternative methods for administration and funding.
- Partners with the Benefits Supervisor to ensure all health and welfare and retirement plan legal filings are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Responsible for communication with Firm-managers regarding benefits surveys, RFPs, etc.
- Assist with data collection for non-discrimination testing for flexible spending plans and health care plans.
- Assist Benefits supervisor in conducting research and preparing recommendations regarding compliance with ACA, ERISA and other mandates. Coordinate filing of ACA compliance reporting with applicable agencies, and submit fees for payment.
- Serves as a resource for HR with programs and policies.
- Act as a liaison with other departments such as Payroll and Finance, by preparing billing reports and contribution cost information upon request
- Uses benefit Plan Documents, SPDs and other reference materials to address and resolve escalated benefit plan inquires in a timely manner
- Shared responsibility with Benefits supervisor on Workday Benefits/Payroll integration
- Knowledge of alternate funding arrangements such as self-insurance
- Assist with creating and updating departmental Standard operative procedures.
- Comply with, create, maintain and use appropriate physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to guard Protected Health Information (“PHI”) maintained by the Firm is in full compliance with HIPAA and other applicable rules and regulations. This includes restricting access to PHI to those employees who need to know the information and obtaining PHI only after receiving written authorization by the covered individual; provide training to all benefits employees, supervisors/managers, and the HIPAA Privacy and Grievance Officers.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required. An advanced degree in a related field or benefits/HR certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of related experience in Benefits Administration. Thorough understanding of qualified plans, self-insured health plans and other benefits plan is required.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and Word. HRIS data entry experience and reporting required. Experience with benefits design scenario modeling and other analysis a plus.
