Summary

A premier boutique law firm is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist who will be responsible for the full cycle staff recruiting process — attracting, screening, selecting, and onboarding qualified staff across all levels within multiple departments. Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager, the ideal candidate will have 5+ years of recruiting experience (law firm or professional services experience a plus) and knowledge of state and federal employment law.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and post employment advertisements, including negotiating and controlling ad and posting fees.
  • Work with employment and temporary staffing agencies, including negotiating and controlling employment-related fees.
  • Draft job and position descriptions for newly created positions and review existing position descriptions, recommending changes as necessary.
  • Conduct and coordinate candidate screening and interview processes, including reviewing resumes and applications, testing, and referring qualified applicants to hiring managers.
  • Recommend final candidates to appropriate hiring/administrative managers and coordinate pre-hire and offer processes, including reference checks, background screenings, offer presentations, and employment letters.
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders; partner with hiring managers to review, analyze, and clarify job specifications, behaviors, and skills required; understand business operations and develop recruiting strategies.
  • Partner with HR Managers to ensure execution of firmwide policies and programs pertaining to recruitment and provide general assistance as needed in adherence to state and federal regulatory laws.
  • Develop sourcing plans specific to each job opportunity; utilize proactive recruiting and behavioral interview techniques.
  • Remain abreast of new developments in recruiting; network with counterparts in comparable law firms and attend local seminars to gain knowledge in legal industry recruiting and employment law; develop industry contacts.
  • Create a best-in-class candidate and client experience by driving speed, quality, and effective communication, including status updates.
  • Work with the Director of Talent Acquisition, Diversity & Inclusion to develop recruiting procedures and strategies; determine the most effective recruiting methods and sources to attract candidates and work with hiring managers to execute those strategies.
  • Mentor hiring managers on appropriate recruitment and legal hiring/interviewing practices and procedures; conduct training on lawful hiring practices and interview guidelines.
  • Maintain data on recruitment activities, applicant flow, interviews, and hires; provide internal recruitment reports (e.g., time-to-fill, cost-to-hire, and other tracking/metrics).
  • Develop and maintain contacts with educational institutions, employment agencies, placement firms, and other applicant sources; develop a presence in the legal industry and marketplace; develop recruitment programs including job fairs and other events that offer the opportunity to promote the firm and create brand awareness.
  • Monitor and apply HR recruiting best practices.
  • Act as point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of recruiting experience; law firm or professional services experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment law, including the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Excellent interviewing skills and a thorough knowledge of recruitment and selection techniques.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with personnel at all levels to determine short- and long-term staffing needs.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Highly developed problem-solving skills using a team approach.
  • Ability to coordinate numerous projects and tasks simultaneously and set appropriate priority levels.
  • Ability to respond creatively and with composure under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel on recruiting assignments.
  • Ability to work beyond regular business hours as required.
  • Mastery of applicable software applications.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Compensation: $84,000.00-$120,000.00, plus bonus
