Legal Recruitment Coordinator

Washington, DC

The firm is looking for a Legal Recruitment Coordinator to support all Legal Recruitment functions in the D.C. office and work with the team to assist with the day-to-day functions of Legal Talent Management and Professional Development. The candidate should demonstrate excellent time management skill and organization, be able to successfully handle multiple work streams and provide exceptional client service. This is an Exempt role and is based in the in the Washington, D.C. office.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Senior Legal Talent Management and Recruitment Manager and others to execute and oversee key aspects of law student recruitment, the summer associate program and lateral attorney hiring for the firm’s DC office
  • Law Student Recruitment
    • Manage logistics for the law student recruitment process including preparation, scheduling interviews and student communications
    • Organize offer dinners and annual recruiting events in the office and off-site
    • Coordinate attorney evaluations of candidates and preparation of all correspondence related to law student recruitment including offer and rejection letters
    • Prepare materials and logistics for Recruiting Committee meetings, including scheduling, drafting agendas, candidate packets, and post-meeting action items
    • Process candidate resumes and maintain recruitment database and candidate files
  • Summer Associate Program
    • Plan and execute summer program events, serving as the primary logistical and operational lead
    • Support summer associate assignment process
    • Manage logistics for summer associate reviews, including collecting attorney evaluations, scheduling and preparing materials
    • Prepare and track all correspondence related to the summer associate program
  • Lateral Attorney Recruitment
    • Manage logistics for the clerk and lateral attorney candidate interviews
    • Coordinate attorney evaluations of candidates, preparation of all correspondence related to lateral recruitment including offer and rejection letters and search firm communications
    • Maintain records of search firm candidate submissions
    • Process candidate resumes and maintain recruitment database and candidate files
  • Legal Talent Management, Professional Development and General Departmental Support
    • Assist in organizing ad hoc events and programming for the Washington, D.C. office
    • Provide general support for Legal Talent Management and Professional Development initiatives
    • Prepare regular reports and statistics for Senior Manager, Director, Hiring Partner(s), and other key stakeholders
    • Handle special projects and tasks as requested

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of related work experience, preferably in a legal or professional services environment
  • Demonstrated success in proactively and efficiently handling multiple tasks and competing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Proven experience working effectively in a team environment and interfacing with professionals at every level
  • Strong track record of outstanding interpersonal skills and highly developed organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail
  • Proven written communication skills with a demonstrated capacity for exercising discretion and sound judgment
  • Demonstrated experience prioritizing workload and delivering results under pressure, including working outside of regular business hours, in a deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Willingness to work outside of regular business hours as necessary
  • This is a hybrid role which requires in-office attendance a minimum of four days per week (Monday through Thursday) and up to five days per week in the busy seasons
  • Willingness to engage in off-site travel as required to meet job demands and firm needs
  • Required to monitor and respond to emails and phone calls after hours and weekends

Compensation

  • $70,000.00-$85,000.00 plus bonus.
