IP Litigation Associate (Mid-Level)

Premier, boutique, global, law firm seeks IP litigation attorneys for high-stakes, technology-driven patent disputes in a collegial, no-billable-hour environment. Attorneys manage all case stages-from discovery to trial/appeal-across sectors like pharma and tech. The role requires strong technical backgrounds (often with advanced degrees) to handle complex, fast-paced litigation, offering accelerated professional growth.  

Key Responsibilities

• Litigation Management: Handle all aspects of IP litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Case Strategy: Collaborate with teams to develop legal strategies for complex patent disputes (both plaintiffs and defendants), including ITC investigations and post-grant proceedings.
• Technical Analysis: Utilize technical, scientific, or engineering expertise to understand and explain complex technologies (e.g., semiconductors, biotechnology).
• Court Appearance: Draft briefs and argue motions in federal courts and at the USPTO.  

Requirements

• Experience: Proven experience in patent litigation (for lateral hiring) or a strong interest in technology-focused, high-stakes litigation.
• Technical Background: A degree in a technical field (e.g., engineering, life sciences) is crucial, with many attorneys holding advanced degrees.
• Skills: Strong analytical, writing, and advocacy skills to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Bar Admission: Member of the bar (e.g., California, New York, or DC).
