Business Development Manager – Awards & Recognition

Summary
The Awards & Recognition Manager will be responsible for increasing the visibility and recognition of the firm, our practices and our lawyers, through oversight of the firm’s award and directory submissions program.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an awards and rankings strategy that aligns with the firm’s strategic goals
- Lead the firm’s participation in awards, directories and survey submissions across U.S. offices and practices
- Work closely with practice group leaders to develop strategies to best position the firm and our lawyers in our submissions
- Interview practice leaders and partners in order to write engaging and compelling nominations for recognition opportunities across a range of publications
- Review and edit nominations prepared by other team members
- Develop and maintain relationships with relevant editors, reporters and researchers
- Evaluate and advise on potential new opportunities for recognition
- Prepare partners for interviews with reporters and researchers
- Collaborate with colleagues in PR & Communications and Practice Coverage to identify individuals and matters to put forward in submissions
- Collaborate with colleagues and partners to leverage wins and rankings to further the firm’s business development goals
- Identify and implement best practices to increase/improve the firm’s performance in awards and rankings
- Analyze award and ranking results in order to provide feedback and recommendations for improving future submissions
- Manage team members responsible for drafting submissions, managing nominations deadlines, scheduling interviews, tracking results and performing competitor analysis
Qualifications
- 3-5 years minimum of relevant experience in a submissions role, preferably in the legal industry
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Excellent organizational skills and very strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple, time-sensitive projects simultaneously and to prioritize competing deadlines
- Exceptional writing and editing skills
- Proactive approach with ability to initiate and manage projects
- Exceptional judgment and discretion
- Highly collaborative, with the ability to form effective working relationships with individuals at all levels
Compensation
The expected base salary for this exempt position ranges from $150,000 – $200,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, anticipated assignment, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. The firm offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
