Corporate Paralegal Coordinator

Summary

The Corporate Paralegal Coordinator will oversee the Firm’s corporate paralegal department.  The successful candidate will be required to perform critical tasks under time constraints with the highest degree of accuracy while maintaining the utmost composure, professionalism and tact under pressure at every step of the way.  The corporate paralegal coordinator will be tasked with ensuring that projects and/or requests to the department meet or exceed the legal team’s own requirements and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assigns paralegal support to specific matters, determining scheduling and support requirements while ensuring that deadlines are met;
  • Manages the paralegals assigned to a defined practice area, sets priorities according to transaction or project needs and attorney requests;
  • Provides and/or coordinates training on all corporate support applications to paralegals (includes coordination of seminars and educational gatherings as needed);
  • Applies knowledge of corporate transactions to coordinate workflow and create teams;
  • Creates end-user and training manuals for corporate paralegals;
  • Provides support for corporate transactions and projects and coordinates with other support departments to effectively meet the needs of the transaction or project;
  • Manages and coordinates work in a professional manner, including interfacing with attorneys, management and support staff when necessary to ensure efficient and productive workflow;
  • Develops and maintains the department’s procedures and best practices guidelines;
  • Maintains calendar of paralegal schedules and assignments to provide optimum and continuous support to attorneys at all times;
  • Analyzes and reports on paralegals’ time to assess workload, productivity and ability to meet ongoing Firm needs;
  • Coordinates recruitment, hiring and placement of corporate paralegals; and
  • Defines job expectations for corporate paralegals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a corporate paralegal and must have at least one year experience in a supervisory role, including reviewing the work of others, providing guidance, and allocating resources.
  • Ability to encourage and motivate corporate paralegals to function on both an individual and team basis;
  • Ability to maintain working knowledge of the Firm’s practice areas and procedures;
  • Ability and willingness to take on new responsibilities as the need arises; and
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Compensation

The Firm provides competitive compensation and benefits to its employees ensuring that we attract and retain the most talented individuals.  The expected base salary for this role ranges from $100,000 – $115,000.  The base salary offer is based on a variety of factors which includes, but not limited to qualifications, education and experience.
