Rankings Manager

Global Law Firm is seeking a Rankings & Awards Manager to join their Business Development and Marketing (BDM) Department. This position will be responsible for leading the firm’s global directories and awards submissions to raise the profiles of the firm’s key practice groups and lawyers and celebrate the expertise and achievements of the firm.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a global awards and rankings strategy that aligns with the firm’s strategic goals and business plans
- Be well versed in the process, expectations, and winning techniques to achieve the highest rankings possible
- Identify, investigate, and advise on new or potential rankings categories and publishers
Project manage the entire submissions process, including:
- Creating and maintaining an updated master calendar of deadlines and RACI tracking
- Scheduling, planning, and ensuring timely submissions
- Drafting, development, review, and finalization for all legal rankings and awards; and all follow up, including reporting on results and our trends, and updating attorney bios and practice descriptions with the latest rankings and awards
- Work closely with practice leaders, BDM, and other departments to gather relevant information and prepare successful submissions that are consistent with firm’s quality and brand
- Write descriptions, summaries, and other narrative regarding our rankings and awards, for use in social media, pitches, marketing collateral, internal communications and other uses
- Track and internally report on the rankings trends of our firm and of our competitors: produce regular reports as well as one-off reports responsive to specific internal and external queries and opportunities
- Identify and implement best practices and processes to grow and improve the firm’s rankings in key directories, including Chambers, The Legal 500, and many others
- Liaise with the editors and researchers at Chambers, The Legal 500, and other publications to understand and keep up with methodology and submission guidelines and use that information to enhance future submissions
- Proactively analyze and evaluate rankings results and directory feedback, including confidential reports, to create recommendations that improve submissions moving forward
- Maintain updated library of rankings logos, badges, and other graphics, copyrights, republishing and posting agreements, and other information from rankings and awards publishers
- Serve as an advisor to partners and practice leaders to advise on approach and prepare successful submissions, including drafting compelling descriptions, selecting references, and preparing for nomination interviews
- Act as the main point of contact for all directories and awards inquiries
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year accredited college or university required; degree in public relations, communications, or marketing preferred
- 3-5 years of experience as either a directory researcher or working on law firm directory submissions
- Extremely strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail; consistently polished work product
- Experience with the use of online information databases, tools, and resources
- Excellent project management and organization skills

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $150,000.00-$160,000.00, based on experience and location
