Business Development Coordinator

Summary
The Business Development Coordinator will support the Business Development and Marketing Department as well as practices and lawyers. This position will report to the Business Development Manager and will be based in the firm’s Roseland, New Jersey or Washington DC office with occasional travel to the firm’s other East Coast offices. This position will sit in the Firm’s Roseland, NJ or Washington, DC offices and currently offers a hybrid remote work opportunity.
Essential Job Requirements
- Providing high-level support to business development managers and lead attorneys on the development and execution of individual and practice group strategic plans;
- Preparing pitches, proposals, and RFPs for existing and prospective clients. Includes prep work (conflicts checks, company research), preparing customized pitch materials, and follow-up, such as updating a pitch tracking report, internal newsletter, and maintaining and updating master marketing materials;
- Researching and analyzing market intelligence and industry trends relating to existing and prospective clients, competitors, and business development opportunities, including conferences and membership organizations;
- Maintaining the firm’s experience database by capturing, drafting, and updating practice group matter descriptions;
- Coordinating with the firm’s event team in sourcing, planning, and executing practice group events, including the creation of promotional materials and occasional onsite support;
- Assisting business development managers on relevant ranking submissions for key legal directories (e.g., Chambers);
- Identifying media opportunities to increase the profile of the practice group and individual partners. This includes working with the firm’s PR agency for placement opportunities and handling post press follow-up, such as leveraging placements in relevant marketing materials, website, bios and internal newsletters;
- Identifying, maintaining, and creating econtent, including client alerts, social media, newsletters, biographies, podcasts, and videoblogs.
- Assisting with creating and tracking practice group business development budgets.
Additional Responsibilities
- Travel to the firm’s other East Coast offices for meetings and events.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS), preferably in a marketing-related field.
- Marketing/business development background preferred; law firm experience a plus.
- Results-oriented.
