CLE Coordinator

Summary
The CLE Coordinator (the “Coordinator”) reports to the Director of Professional Development (the “Director”). The Coordinator handles all CLE aspects of firm learning programming for internal and external audiences, acts as a resource to firm attorneys with respect to their individualized CLE compliance needs and ensures that Firm complies with all of its MCLE Approved Provider obligations. The Coordinator also partners with the Marketing Function and subject matter experts on the CLE aspects of training programs for alumni, clients and other friends of the Firm to position the Firm to leverage CLE for strategic external facing purposes.
Essential Job Requirements
The Coordinator is responsible for:
- Demonstrating exceptional knowledge of the MCLE Program Rules and Accredited Provider obligations in California, New Jersey, New York, Utah and Washington DC and staying abreast of changes and developments in those requirements;
- Coordinating all CLE and other aspects of firm’s training events for internal attorney audiences with a focus on quality and excellent client service by;
- Supporting program faculty in their efforts to prepare CLE compliant materials;
- Preparing CLE compliant language and credit calculations for inclusion in CLE announcements/invitations;
- Collaborating with the Training Specialist and PD Assistant on the delivery of high caliber, user-friendly training opportunities which offer CLE whenever possible;
- Educating attorneys regarding use of our attorney learning management system so that attorneys can readily keep track of their earned and outstanding CLE credits;
- Preparing all reports and submissions required of approved/accredited providers of CLE in California, New Jersey and New York and all other jurisdictions in which the Firm may, in the future, become an approved CLE provider;
- Producing and updating CLE related intranet content;
- Understanding the Firm’s membership with PLI and how the Firm can leverage PLI to meet training and CLE needs and objectives;
- Examining trends regarding where and how our attorneys are securing their CLE credits (outside of LSU and PLI) and making recommendations to the Director regarding any new memberships the firm should pursue with outside CLE organizations;
- Researching the steps for obtaining CLE Board approval of any program or activity that the firm determines to pursue consistent with business needs (e.g.; a particular CLE format or single course approval in a jurisdiction in which the firm is not an accredited/approved provider);
- Contributing to any reports for Firm leadership which address CLE initiatives;
- Collaborating with the CHRO and Alumni Committee Chair on CLE aspects of alumni CLE Programs;
- Collaborating with the Marketing Function and content experts on CLE eligibility questions regarding the development of CLE qualifying programs for external audiences;
- Guiding the Marketing Function regarding the anticipated costs associated with filing ad hoc CLE Board applications related to programming for external-facing audiences;
- Knowing and adhering to Firm policies and procedures, with particular emphasis on an understanding of the policies that relate to the professional development function;
- Seeking timely solutions to work conflicts and priorities;
- Collaborating with the Human Resources Department as a whole on diversified Department initiatives, projects and events (creative input and suggestions of all kinds are welcome);
- Keeping track of open items and initiating timely follow-up.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree;
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a professional services organization, working with CLE;
- Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
- Prior experience with database entry;
- Experience interacting with all levels of management, staff and external contacts;
- Excellent client service skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Exceptional organizational skills;
- Ability to multi task and collaborate with others.
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday 9:00 am-5:00 pm
