Assistant-Legal Training

Summary

The Assistant – Legal Training will provide support to the Legal Recruiting and Training team (part of the Firm’s Legal Talent Office) and assist in the logistical planning of various aspects of the Firm’s educational programs, including summer associate training, orientation programs, training for lawyers at all levels, practice group meetings, and client training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Training Programs and Practice Group Meetings: Assist in executing Firm training curricula.  Coordinate logistics, including managing invitations and evaluations, copying, and distributing training materials and interfacing with subject matter experts and relevant internal departments, such as conference services, library, media, etc. across all Firm offices.  Assist attorneys with access to various training resources and processing of reimbursements related to training programs.

CLE Compliance: Attend programs and assist with procedures for CLE-eligible training programs and practice group meetings, including gaining a working understanding of NY CLE rules, monitoring attendance sheets, preparing remote participation codes, taking timed agendas, and processing paperwork for both internal and external CLE programs. Assist with attorney compliance and registration reminders and updating of web-based department resources such as the R&D webpage, training calendar and library of training materials and recordings.  Assist with creating and submitting applications for CLE credits in jurisdictions outside of NY for training programs.

Special Projects: Handle special requests from partners and members of the Legal Talent Office team on an ad-hoc basis. Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Candidate must be a self-starter with excellent attention to detail, capability to issue-spot, strong organizational skills, and independent sense of follow-through to carry tasks through completion without prompting.  Must have strong writing skills and be a careful proofreader, detail-oriented, willing to learn, creative, and flexible. Professional demeanor in person, in written communications, and on the phone.  Superior judgment and interpersonal skills.  High proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of Micron, viDesktop or equivalent LMS preferred.  Proficient at multitasking, prioritizing, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Education and/or Experience
College degree required.  Two or more years of experience working in law firm or equivalent professional environment a plus.

Salary: $60,000-75,000/year, dependent on experience
