A New York based Global Law Firm is seeking a dynamic, resourceful and organized individual to join our Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Assistant will a variety of departmental processes and maintain the department’s day-to-day operations while working closely with other members of the Firm’s HR teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Firm’s Human Resources department, which oversees the entire employee lifecycle for the Operations team
- Coordinate New Hire Orientation logistics, including assist with on-boarding paperwork and new hire set-up; conduct new hire orientation
- Organize and coordinate the Firm’s Spring and Fall internship programs for college-level students; support the summer internship program
- Execute the off-boarding process for voluntary leavers including creating departure memos
- Coordinate various employee recognition programs such as Staff Appreciation Day
- Respond to departmental questions and requests (i.e. employment verifications and policy questions)
- Establish and maintain department files and records
- Coordinate and manage logistics for all department-sponsored meetings and events
- Support departmental training initiatives
- Process departmental invoices and expense reimbursements
- Other duties and projects, as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Fluency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic and “can do” attitude
- Ability to easily shift priorities in a fast-paced, high pressure environment
- Work overtime as needed
- Prior work experience in Human Resources a plus
- Interest in Human Resources and/or experience in a law firm, or other professional services, setting preferred
- Strong client/customer service mindset, excellent interpersonal skills
- Works well independently and collaboratively as part of a team
