Human Resources Manager

Summary
The Human Resource Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration,
coordination and evaluation of the human resource function and recommends new approaches,
policies and procedures to continually improve the efficiency of the HR department and services
performed.
Responsibilities
Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (ADA, FMLA, FLSA,
etc.)
• Ensure accurate administration of FMLA and other leaves
• Oversee development and maintenance of retention policies and practices, including
record keeping guidelines (for the department and employee personnel files)
• HR Policies / Procedures / Benefits:
• Develop, recommend, and implement personnel policies and procedures; maintain
handbook on policies and procedures
• Research and suggest implementation of HR practices based on industry standards and
growth of the firm
• Act as the primary administrator of the firm’s HRIS (ADP Workforce Now)
• Manage all aspects of benefits administration, including annual re-evaluation of benefits
for cost-effectiveness, implementation of new benefits, and evaluation of existing
programs
Employee Development:
• Oversee employee performance management, including matters relating to disciplinary
action
• Oversee and coordinate year-end review processes for staff; work closely with Office
• Administrator & HR Director in coordination of annual attorney reviews
Recruiting / Staffing / Onboarding:
• Work closely with Department Managers to identify staffing needs; coordinate recruiting
• efforts, interview processes, and job postings
• Conduct interviews with all new staff hires; complete reference checking
• Lead onboarding process of new employees; maintain onboarding materials; work with
• other department managers to coordinate job specific training
Compensation Management:
• Implement and annually update compensation program (references salary surveys,
• analyze compensation structure, etc.); rewrite job descriptions as necessary; monitor the
• performance evaluation program and revise as necessary
• Work closely with Director of Finance on payroll related matters, including ensuring
• accurate benefit, liens and other withholdings
• Manage Time & Attendance module in HRIS/payroll software to ensure compliance with
• FLSA
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ human recourse experience required (preferably in a law
firm)
• Strong knowledge in state, federal and local employment laws
• Must be detailed oriented and highly organized
• Must demonstrate high degree of confidentiality and discretion
• Must be able to work independently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to work additional hours outside of regular business hours as needed
• Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now a strong plus
• Knowledge of payroll principles a strong plus
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $100,000 based on experience
