A midsize global law firm is seeking a Communications Assistant to join their Communications Department and assist with content and communication initiatives for the firm. This position will report to the firm’s Communications Manager and interact with all members of the firm’s Marketing team as well as firm attorneys and outside vendors and resources.
Responsibilities
- Research and track upcoming deadlines for directories and awards.
- Coordinate the submission process for legal awards and directories – keeping track of outstanding items, sending reminders and chasing attorneys, and formatting submissions for final review.
- Maintain a database of credible and non-credible awards and respond to requests accordingly.
- Track and maintain editorial calendars and help identify and recommend media opportunities for the firm and its lawyers.
- Stay up to date on industry trends and other news and help build relevant media lists.
- Monitor and track news coverage for the firm.
- Maintain a content calendar for the firm and identify opportunities to promote existing content.
- Assist with drafting, editing and proofing content for the firm’s website and social media platforms.
- Monitor analytics and develop reports on communications campaigns and strategies.
- Draft internal emails for announcements and foster employee engagement.
- Assist in the execution of various PR and Communications campaigns.
- Work closely with the Communications Manager to collaborate and advise on the firm’s global communications strategy and assist with campaign development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year accredited college or university required.
- 1-2 years of prior communications experience at a law firm or other professional services firm.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills.
- Superior organizational skills and outstanding attention to detail.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet deadlines.
- Must be able to multi-task and handle competing deadlines.
- Familiarity with writing for digital platforms, including websites and social media.
- Familiarity with the Chambers and Legal 500 submissions process.
- Intellectually curious with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Energetic and enthusiastic team-player with a high level of creativity.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $55,000 to $70,000 based on experience
