Summary

The Manager, Visual Design & Branding (“manager”) directs the development and implementation of Firm’s visual identity standards.  The role is responsible for managing the firm’s brand and visual identity, and development and implementation of diverse marketing and print, web, audio-visual, and other materials for external and internal use. The manager supervises an internal team and external design resources.  The role oversees major design and production projects and works closely with practice group leaders, marketing staff, partners and associates around the world. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on creative design for print, web, audiovisual, and other media; ensure appropriate and consistent use of brand across all work.
  • Manage project requests and work with project team and internal client and management to collaborate on ideas and set schedule to ensure project goals are met.
  • Oversee timely and brand-compliant design treatments and design execution of design templates and other firm-wide materials.
  • Prioritize and assign incoming requests.
  • Manage outsourced resources. Oversee outside design firm resources including budget, billing, and resource allocation to meet firm needs.
  • Provide training and assistance to global marketing team; ensure materials are brand-compliant
  • Implement versatile, practical solutions to design and production projects.
  • Provide project management and budgeting for complex efforts, i.e., commercial printer vendors. Ensure that delivery of product is on time and within budget.
  • Lead and organize global project teams to upgrade design of all firm materials, e.g., branded campaigns, collateral, pitches and RFPs, digital/web assets and implement all new templates globally.
  • Resolve new design challenges with creative solutions.
  • Advise on computer software upgrades and needs.
  • Handle New York photography assignments and advise others on photography requirements on a case-by-case basis. 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design/media, graphic communication, advertising, journalism, communications, or similar preferred.
  • Minimum 7-10 years graphic design and project management experience working on diverse projects (web, print brochures, advertisements, AV, etc.) as part of a global team; professional services firm background preferred.
  • Expertise in brand and visual identity development and implementation.
  • Computer experience, with mastery of word processing, desktop publishing (HTML, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Microsoft Office suite).
  • Audiovisual editing experience desired but not essential.

  • Strong working knowledge of both Mac and PC design platforms.
  • Strong advising and influencing skills; can build consensus/buy-in from diverse constituents globally.
  • Persuasive abilities and cooperative attitude/personality to work with people at all levels and from different cultures.
  • Proficient photography skills,
  • Go-to network of vendors (e.g., printers, web designers) and freelancers helpful.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $160,000.00-$170,000.00, dependent on experience
