National Security Business Development Manager

Summary

Be part of our team, driving revenue to a billion-dollar, global law firm through strategic initiatives, marketing materials, client events, and presentations. The position, supporting the highly regarded National Security practice group — which includes many former high-ranking government officials, provides high visibility within the marketing department, including close interaction with Chief Marketing Officer, as well as with other partners in the premier Litigation practices. The position provides an opportunity to be mentored and to hone key marketing skills, including persuasive writing, project management, content creation across platforms, research and targeting, and event planning.

The ideal candidate will work closely with our Litigation practice groups to develop and implement business development plans; research and identify opportunities for promoting and cross‑selling; conduct research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities to deepen existing client relationships; expand the client base; and increase internal and external visibility. Key to this work is preparing customized pitches/RFPs, presentations, web copy, and other marketing collateral; planning events and marketing campaigns to promote them and maximize their impact; maintaining marketing materials, matter databases and attorney biographies. Other duties include meticulous execution of all projects and work, ensuring that data and content are consistently accurate and well presented. The ideal candidate will collaborate effectively with marketing colleagues at all levels, and attorneys throughout the firm’s global network, including in Europe and Asia, and ensure client service and satisfaction are attained in all areas of the position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. At least five years of relevant experience in professional services marketing; law firm experience preferred. Working knowledge of litigation practices desired, with direct work experience a plus.
  • Knowledge/interest/experience in government, national security and public policy issues.
  • Strong knowledge of core marketing principles including driving innovative tools and programs, competitive intelligence, market research, and pitch and RFP responses.
  • Strong writer/editor, and proofreader.

 

 

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: up to $140,000.00, dependent on experience
