Summary

The Lateral Partner & Counsel Recruiting Coordinator works with the Global Manager, Lateral Partner & Counsel Recruiting, in support of the legal recruiting process for lateral partner and counsel candidates across the firm in our 25 global office locations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with various aspects of partner and counsel lateral hiring including:
  • Act as liaison with search firms, prospective candidates, and Shearman lawyers
  • Work with the lawyers, in collaboration with the Global Manager, Lateral Partner & Counsel Recruiting and the Worldwide Recruiting team, to coordinate partner and counsel outreach
  • Prepare interview packets, candidate presentation materials and marketing materials
  • Conduct market research as requested by the partners and Global Manager, Lateral Partner & Counsel Recruiting
  • Schedule introductory meetings, interviews and drop-ins
  • Meet, greet and educate candidates about the firm as needed
  • Help plan offer dinners and other follow-up events
  • Maintain legal recruiting database (Workday), assist with data entry and audit reports to ensure accuracy of information
  • Act as point of contact for partners and Business Unit Directors (BUDs)
  • Work with Global Manager, Lateral Partner & Counsel Recruiting to provide on-the-ground support for lateral partner and counsel hiring initiatives – including but not limited to contacting candidates, scheduling interviews, processing reimbursements and check requests, etc.
  • Participate in other departmental responsibilities and/or firm-wide projects, as is appropriate (e.g. lateral recruiting, recruiting brochures and website updates, diversity & inclusion initiatives, etc.)
  • Provide administrative support to Global Manager, Lateral Partner & Counsel Recruiting

Requirements

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems preferred (esp. Workday)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Exhibits high level of maturity and excellent judgment
  • High energy, works well independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to keep calm and focused despite heavy workload or high stress situations
  • Exhibits strong business acumen
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and create a pleasant and professional rapport with attorneys, business services colleagues, recruits and other external parties
  • Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality of sensitive matters and respond effectively to such situations
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 2 years of law firm / professional services experience required
  • Previous business development experience is a plus

 

 

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $70,000.00-$75,000.00, dependent on experience
