Summary
The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Manager-Development, Communications, and Programs – is a key member of the Firm’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Department and is responsible for leading and managing DEI programs in support of the Firm’s broader DEI strategy. This position will advance the Firm’s overarching DEI strategy through the development, refinement, and execution of initiatives intended to support the recruitment and retention of attorneys from underrepresented backgrounds, including primary management of mentorship and sponsorship programs as well as support for diversity fellowship and scholarship programs targeted toward cultivating a diverse attorney pipeline.
A secondary focus is overseeing DEI-focused marketing and communications in close collaboration with the Chief DEI Officer. The role will help in development and delivery of internal and external DEI messaging, collaborate with colleagues in Marketing and Communications to promote Firm DEI programs across preferred channels, and serve as key content writer for DEI programs. The role will also manage, from inception to execution, programs to support the Firm’s inclusive culture, including firmwide DEI and affinity group events. The ideal candidate will cherish the challenge of curating and cultivating ideas, carrying them through to completion. The position will report to the Assoc. Dir. of DEI and work closely with the Chief DEI Officer, other DEI Team members, Affinity Group leaders, as well as other key stakeholders including members of the Recruiting, Professional Development, and Marketing and Business Development teams.
Responsibilities
- Refinement and execution of mentoring and coaching program focused on attorneys from underrepresented backgrounds.
- Develop and deploy, in consultation with Chief DEI Officer and Assoc. Dir. of DEI, mentoring and sponsorship programs for attorneys from underrepresented backgrounds, including development of work plans and key milestones, along with management of program implementation.
- Collaborate in defining the DEI programs and initiatives in support of the Firm’s overarching DEI strategy and goals.
- Lead the development and delivery of internal and external corporate messaging and key talking points for DEI programs and initiatives.
- Manage, in collaboration with PR and Communications team, the delivery of DEI communications across the Firm’s preferred internal and external communications channels.
- Conduct regular research, surveys and interviews with lawyers, advisors and staff to inform and evolve positioning, key messaging and content development.
- Serve as the key content writer for the DEI Department and advises on style, grammar, and usage.
- Contribute to processes and tools for ensuring all written material is error-free and adheres to Firm and team style and brand.
- Provide guidance and support for thought leadership, blogs, and social media as needed.
- Manage external vendors as needed to deliver on program activities and collateral.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; JD with experience in a large law firm a strong plus.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum of three years of progressive experience administering or managing DEI or professional development programs and related communications.
- Strong experience in digital media, i.e. web/intranet, social media, podcasts, blogs, etc., and digital platforms, i.e. Twitter, LinkedIn
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to multitask and prioritize work efficiently and effectively.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $130,000.00-$150,000.00, dependent on experience
