Sr. Business Development Analyst, Data & Directories

Summary
The Senior Analyst is responsible for securing the participation of key legal directories, and other rankings and awards organizations to increase rankings and recognition for the firm and its lawyers.
Firm values directories and awards as a significant benchmarking tool. Working under the guidance of the Senior Manager, Directories & Rankings, the Senior Analyst will function as a central point of contact and work closely with global business development, lawyers, firm management, competitive intelligence, and communications teams to prepare successful legal directory submissions.
The Senior Analyst will also assist in establishing best practices for submissions and standardizing all nomination and submission processes, creating and administering a comprehensive rankings and submissions calendar, and spearheading the design, execution and evaluation of submissions, rankings and directories to increase efficiency and consistency.
The Senior analyst must have strong writing and research skills, be capable of working on multiple, conflicting deadlines, and be able to communicate and engage proactively and strategically with a wide and varied range of stakeholders across the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in driving directories submission process end-to-end.
- Assist in ensuring the firm is well-represented in directories and awards in priority or business-focused areas.
- Aid in writing, editing, and reviewing directory, ranking and other submissions.
- Ensure firm profiles are up to date for all relevant directories and consistent across all channels.
- Working in close coordination with the business development team, assist in managing and researching calendars, submissions, client references and lawyer interviews on behalf of the firm globally.
- Provide training, mentoring, and advice in all aspects of the legal directory research process as needed.
- Track, analyze and evaluate rankings, submissions, experience data, research trends and peer firm directory and awards participation and marketing efforts.
- Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with editors and researchers at legal directories.
- Work with Business Development to promote and engage best practices and provide guidance to colleagues globally.
- Work collaboratively with the firm’s communications, marketing, and business development team members to develop and implement a comprehensive plan for communicating rankings internally and externally.
- Assist with other marketing and business development or awards initiatives, as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Have knowledge of and/or desire to know directories, rankings, and awards within the legal industry.
- Great networking and advocacy skills, able to build relationships with stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Comfortable multi-tasking and working on multiple conflicting deadlines, in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong sense of teamwork but confident enough to work autonomously.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and responsibilities and consistently deliver high-quality results in a timely manner while working in a fast-paced international working environment.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
- At least 2 years relevant communications experience at a legal directory or in a law firm environment.
- Strong knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
