Marketing Events Specialist

Summary
The Marketing Events Specialist is responsible for supporting all marketing and business development events across several Firm practices. This Marketing Events Specialist works collaboratively with the Senior National Events Manager, Client Service Managers and the Marketing Operations team to ensure coordination, effective engagement of resources, consistency of approach and high-quality execution of initiatives. The position maintains professionalism and strict confidentiality in all client and Firm matters.
Firm is currently working remote at this time. After the office reopens, Firm will offer the opportunity to work from home with occasional office presence required.

Practice Events and Sponsorships
- In coordination with the Senior National Events Manager and Client Service Managers, provide oversight and management of practice events, including virtual events, and sponsorships. Duties include advising on event design and approach to best achieve objectives; implementing event best practices; tracking event details and ROI; managing and developing budgets; selecting venues and managing venue relationships; researching and selecting vendors for events; supporting sponsorship relationships, including managing sponsorship benefits; coordinating technology and A/V needs; managing relationships with catering companies; coordinating with various vendors for each event; managing invitation lists; overseeing creative deliverables and design; preparing event material; overseeing event promotion; managing on-site and/or virtual logistics; identifying and sourcing of branded giveaways; and other responsibilities, as necessary.
- Attendance will be required for some conferences, seminars, webinars and other events, as well as local functions for other practices and office functions, as necessary.
Internal and Local Events
- In coordination with the Senior National Events Manager, provide assistance with certain internal and local events, including those hosted virtually. Duties are similar to those listed in the previous section.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, however, provides occasional direction to business professionals. Occasionally oversees the duties of interns participating in the firm’s school-to-work internship program.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred and two to four years of marketing/event experience, preferably in a legal or professional services firm; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of services and capabilities of legal practices. Must develop credibility by building upon that knowledge, specific to the practices supported at the Firm. Basic understanding of the business of law firms.
- Excellent organizational and written skills, strong verbal communication skills, a high level of attention to detail and the capacity to work comfortably in a rapidly changing environment on multiple ongoing projects.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with courtesy and diplomacy, efficiently follow written and verbal instructions, provide information and maintain effective relationships with a diverse group of attorneys, clients, business professionals, and outside vendors and contacts.
- Computer proficient with excellent technological skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and database management. Knowledge of InterAction and/or experience maintaining a website a plus.
- Exhibit a high degree of initiative with excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving and follow-through skills in order to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, detailed-oriented work environment.
- Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment. Must also be able to work well independently, manage projects and maintain communications with various constituencies.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment including computer, laser printer, telephone, photocopier, scanner, calculator, facsimile, etc.
- Ability and availability to travel, when safe to do so, to other Firm or event locations.
- Ability to occasionally retrieve and distribute marketing/desktop publishing materials, written documentation, or office supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
