Summary
Premier, global, law firm are looking for a creative, organized and intellectually curious teammate to join a highly collaborative Marketing team, playing a critical role in a very different kind of law firm. Because of the firm’s highly distinctive business model and unique global footprint, members of the Firm’s Marketing and Strategy teams have opportunities to make an outsized impact, including an openness and eagerness for new ideas; day-to-day collaboration with company leadership; and exposure to unique and innovative litigation issues, many of which are front-page news. The Marketing Specialist, Events will be responsible for planning and executing significant marketing initiatives that support the firm’s strategic goals and will play a crucial role in shaping our Events function. You will thrive if you are a self-starter with excellent project management and organization skills who knows and loves the details that go into making large-scale projects like events run smoothly.
Marketing Strategy
- Develop and manage annual strategic event plans and budgets that align with firm objectives
- Identify external event opportunities to drive business development, evaluating the worth of these based on firm commercial priorities
- Coordinate lawyer attendance at external events, including liaising directly with lawyers before, during and after events
- Actively communicate with relevant stakeholders on the status of pre and post event plans
- Identify and build relationships with key conference producers and event organizers
External Event Management
- Oversee operational execution and project management of industry events team
- Contribute to devising and refining new processes to reshape and enhance the industry events function
- Create and manage timelines and provide regular updates to strategy team on deadlines and deliverables to ensure all events run smoothly.
- Conduct post-event debrief meetings and action follow up plans.
Marketing Team Projects
- Support in the project management and execution of Strategy team marketing initiatives beyond events as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years professional experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or Business preferred.
- Strong project management and organization skill with ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines.
- Proactively communicates to facilitate workflow, teamwork, and efficiency.
- Thrives in a visible role and works effectively with team members, colleagues, and firm stakeholders.
- Independent worker who takes initiative to complete tasks and drive projects.
- Produces high quality work; is efficient, accurate and has good attention to detail.
- Consistently strives to improve performance; seeks opportunities to develop professionally and expand job knowledge.
