Business Development Specialist

Summary

Midsize, global, law firm is seeking a Business Development Specialist to join their Marketing Department.  This position will focus on assisting attorneys across all practice areas and office locations with business development activities.  This position will report to the firm’s Senior Business Development Manager and interact with all members of the firm’s Marketing team as well as firm attorneys and outside vendors and resources. 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare company, industry, and market research and provide competitive analyses
  • Draft and update practice descriptions, attorney biographies, and other pitch-related content
  • Prepare pitch presentations and assist with RFP responses
  • Update the firm’s experience database, client/contact lists, pitch and RFP libraries, and other database needs, as necessary
  • Manage the pitch tracking process, including identifying next steps that align with strategic goals
  • Develop strong working relationships with key partners in all practice areas and other members of the Marketing team
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of and act as firm resource re attorney expertise, practice group expertise, client base, firm experience, industry/trade group organizations, legal, industry and business trends, practice-specific marketing materials, and practice-specific media

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year accredited college or university required
  • 3-5 years of experience in business development, client development, or marketing in an international law firm
  • Extremely strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent project management skills and organizational ability
  • Experience with research platforms, including Bloomberg
  • Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and familiarity with client relationship management software
