Real Estate Paralegal
New York, NY or Los Angeles, CA
An AmLaw law firm with nearly 300 attorneys nationwide, has an opening for a Real Estate Paralegal in their NY or LA office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing paralegal services to partners and associates in the Real Estate department. This role will also provide paralegal support to other departments and staff members as needed. The qualified candidate must be able to hit the ground running and exhibit a positive, helpful attitude.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review and analyze title and survey documents, prepare work product related to title and survey matters and negotiate title policies in connection with loan, purchase and sale transactions.
- Prepare for and assist with the closing of various real estate transactions: including the drafting of closing documents, and preparation of closing checklists.
- Preparation and filing of UCC documents. Conduct UCC searches through service companies.
- Filing and/or the preparation of formation documents, resolutions, consents, notices, qualifications, dissolutions and UCC forms.
- Prepare and arrange for transmittal of correspondence, legal documents etc., via regular mail service, Federal Express and other messenger services. Follow up to assure timely and accurate delivery.
- Proofread documents for accuracy and consistency.
- Prepare documents and use research techniques on CT Advantage, CSC Incspot, the Internet, Lexis, Westlaw and other software applications.
- Perform or arrange for duplication and/or binding of documents as required.
- Maintain client files in an orderly fashion and in compliance with Firm procedures.
- Perform various other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 4-6 years of Real Estate experience in a law firm.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- High ethical standards and professional integrity.
- Ability to work independently and on a team.
- Ability to work well under pressure and quick multi-tasker
- Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office.
- Notary Public license a plus.
- Flexibility to work overtime.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $150,000.00-$160,000.00, dependent on experience
