Legal Personnel Manager

Responsibilities
- Manages the Legal Personnel Assistants, including work allocation of tasks and meeting weekly to review tasks and prioritizing deadlines;
- Participates in regular meetings to discuss various associate matters, associate engagement and policy enhancements;
- Consults with OGC regarding employee relations, various associate matters and policies;
- Manages the on-boarding process for new hires, including on-boarding portal (iCIMS), the conflicts clearance process, review and verification of background checks and transcripts and drafting of biographies;
- Shares responsibility in leading one-off orientation sessions for new hires within team;
- Oversees completion of Firm surveys including AmLaw, Chambers and Vault;
- Manages and maintains policy documentation;
- Oversees all salary and employment verifications;
- Shares responsibility of approving all associate expenses;
- Manages all aspects of the legal staff year-end compensation process;
- Conducts exit interviews with associates departing the Firm and takes ownership of compiling the themes of feedback and initiatives;
- Works closely with senior leadership on addressing associate feedback, partner and associate engagement, work life balance and associate retention;
- Collaborates with the Human Resources department as it relates to new on-boarding processes, policy changes or implementation of any new practices for managing personnel, as appropriate;
- Assists with recruiting efforts, as needed; and
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus five or more years of Legal Personnel experience or applicable experience in a service industry firm.
- Must have the ability to work and interact with attorneys at all levels and the ability to gain strong knowledge of the Firm, its culture, practices and policies;
- Excellent organization and communication skills, in addition to superior judgment;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, as well as the ability to learn and use recruiting applications built specifically for the Firm;
- Knowledge of viDesktop a plus;
- Ability to work well under pressure and coordinate several activities at one time;
- Capable of solving problems and meeting deadlines;
- Ability to deal discreetly with confidential information; and
- Ability to work additional hours as needed.
