Summary

Under supervision of the Tax Manager, this individual will prepare/review tax returns and related schedules/reports, develop and organize the US and international tax compliance filings (which includes income, commercial rent, property, sales and use and other types of taxes),  participate in special projects and research various tax topics. In addition, this individual will assist with/manage tax audits and work closely with other teams as well as our outside tax advisors/consultants.  This position will be highly visible within and outside the finance organization and will interact with partners and management regularly.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed schedules used for the partnership’s US federal, state and city income tax returns for a multi-state international service-oriented entity and review of these returns
  • Assist with preparation and review of international tax returns
  • Review preparation of various indirect tax returns (sales and use, personal property, commercial rent tax, gross receipts, insurance premiums and other types of taxes)
  • Prepare annual tax return extensions
  • Develop and document supporting schedules and work papers, create and maintain checklists as needed
  • Analyze various tax return preparation processes and recommend/propose improvements on a continual basis
  • Prepare schedules used in calculating quarterly estimated tax payments and make payments,
  • Prepare and analyze state apportionment factors using cost of performance/ market-sourcing methods as applicable
  • Conduct tax research to resolve tax issues and assess tax implications
  • Prepare Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR) reports
  • Research tax issues as needed and prepare clear summaries of the research
  • Assist with maintaining transfer pricing documentation
  • Respond to notices from IRS/state governments, various tax related inquiries from Partners, tax advisors and other team members
  • Maintain tax filing calendar
  • Assist with various “ad-hoc” projects as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 5+ years of U.S. income tax experience in public accounting with partnership and individual tax knowledge
  • CPA or active CPA candidate required,
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and assignments while consistently meeting deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment,
  • Report writing skills and capabilities to analyze data,
  • Strong PC skills with spreadsheet emphasis with a willingness to adapt to new technology
  • Must be self-motivated, very detail-oriented and organized with team player mentality,
  • Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and writing skills.
